MITSUI-SOKO TRANSPORT, founded in November 2015 and integrated into the MITSUI-SOKO Group in December of the same year, is responsible for supervising and managing the transportation network, which is primarily anchored by the Marukyo Logistics Group, focusing on land freight forwarding operations.

The Marukyo Logistics Group boasts 60 bases spread all across the nation, primarily concentrated in western Japan, and also possesses a fleet of around 1,000 trucks and 2,000 chartered vehicles. Apart from delivering highly efficient regional joint delivery services, such as large-lot trunk line transportation, the Group is actively engaged in advancing asset-based third-party logistics (3PL) solutions.

The transportation industry is confronting a demanding landscape marked by a shortage of truck drivers and an aging labor force, alongside anticipated escalations in the cost of goods due to recent significant surges in fuel prices. Moreover, amid the challenges posed by the so-called "2024 problem," the Marukyo Logistics Group has tackled this issue proactively over the last few years, successfully implementing measures to comply with overtime limits for drivers. This has involved encouraging customers to reassess their delivery schedules, particularly for long-distance transport, with emphasized efforts to minimize idle time.

We aim to establish top-notch domestic logistics services through the seamless integration of the pivotal transport function, which serves as the backbone of the Marukyo Logistics Group, with the multifaceted logistics operations within the MITSUI-SOKO Group.
